Big Woods Lake Recreation Area

Big Woods Lake Recreation Area, located at 1501 East Lake Street in Cedar Falls, is owned by the City of Cedar Falls and managed by Black Hawk County Conservation, offering a comprehensive 12-acre campground with 55 RV campsites, three cabins, tent camping, and wireless internet access. The 86-acre lake features a “no wake” policy ideal for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, while the surrounding area provides access to the Cedar Valley Trail System with over 100 miles of interconnected hard-surface bike paths, disc golf, a Storywalk for families, and a prairie restoration project supported by the Cedar Falls Rotary Club.
