Gateway River Park

Gateway River Park is a free public recreation area located in the heart of Cedar Falls’ historic Downtown District on the Cedar River. The park offers eight engineered in-water features designed for river surfing, kayaking, tubing, paddleboarding, fishing, and swimming, making it a premier destination for water recreation in Iowa. Officially opened in June 2025, the $6 million park was developed through over a decade of community support and serves as a major enhancement to Cedar Falls’ downtown riverfront, attracting both residents and visitors to the region’s outdoor recreation opportunities.
