Columbus Park is a public urban park operated by the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation, located at 1921 SE 1st St in Des Moines, Iowa. The 5.4-acre park features a popular sprayground with pirate-ship theming, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, a bocce ball area, picnic facilities, and a rentable shelter, with daily hours from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Formerly known as Walker Playground, Columbus Park serves as a beloved community gathering space for families and residents of all ages and is part of broader neighborhood improvement initiatives.
