Union Park Splashpad

Union Park’s splash pad is a popular Des Moines recreation facility featuring a free splash pool and wading area located in the historic Union Park neighborhood. The park is operated by the City of Des Moines and operates seasonally from June through September, offering extended hours during summer months. Union Park also features a distinctive vintage rocket slide—a restored piece of playground history dating back to 1971—along with accessible playgrounds, beautiful floral gardens, a heritage carousel, picnic areas, and shade structures that make it a beloved community gathering spot for families.
